What We Do

Large Print and Braille

  • A large range of reading materials are available in both large print and braille; these include novels (for both class and leisure use), text books and popular reading series. Large print resources can be requested in various font types and size.
  • Most of these resources are produced on site by the AFP team, as well as  worksheets and tactile activities for classroom use.

Audio

  • The resource centre has a vast range of audio available including electronic files of novels, MP3 stories and books on CD.
  • Students supported by SASSVI have access to the ePlatform, eBook and audio library. This gives users access to over 20,000 titles.

Early Years Resources

  • Younger children have access to a range of Sense Sacks, which consist of a story; print and braille, and tactile objects to increase meaning and understanding of concepts.
  • Pre-braille resources and early concept development equipment are available for borrowing; these include the Mangold Basic braille and Tactile Treasures programs, early braille readers and many other tactile items.
